What are Skin peel

A chemical peel is a resurfacing treatment that involves applying a specialized acid solution to the skin. This solution gently dissolves the bonds holding dead, damaged skin cells together, causing them to eventually peel off.
Depending on your skin concerns, peels are classified into three levels:
  1. Superficial Peels (AHA/BHA): Mild acids (like glycolic or salicylic acid) that target only the outermost layer. Ideal for quick glow, blackheads, and light refreshment with zero downtime.
  2. Medium Peels (TCA): Penetrate deeper into the skin layers. Excellent for targeting fine lines, acne scars, and noticeable hyperpigmentation.
  3. Deep Peels: Strong treatments targeting deep wrinkles or severe scars, performed under medical supervision.

What are the benefits of Skin peel

Deep Exfoliation: Removes dead skin cells, instantly revealing a smoother and brighter complexion.
Acne & Pore Control: Unclogs pores, reduces blackheads, and controls excess sebum production.
Fades Pigmentation: Lightens dark spots, sun damage, melasma, and post-acne marks (PIH).
Anti-Aging Effect: Smooths out fine lines and surface wrinkles by stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis.
Improves Texture: Evens out rough skin texture and minimizes the appearance of shallow acne scars.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does a chemical peel hurt?

During the application, you will feel a warm, tingling, or stinging sensation on the skin. For superficial peels, this lasts only a few minutes and is easily tolerated. For medium peels, a handheld fan is provided to minimize any temporary discomfort.

  • What to do before my treatment?

Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Stop using retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or exfoliating scrubs 3–5 days prior to the peel. Do not wax, shave, or use hair removal creams on the face for 48 hours before the session.

  • What is the aftercare? (What to do/not do after treatment)

Apply SPF 30/50 daily without fail, as your new skin will be highly sensitive to UV damage. Do not pick, pull, or scratch peeling skin, as this can cause scarring and hyperpigmentation. Let it flake off naturally. Keep the skin hydrated using only the gentle, bland moisturizers recommended by your practitioner. Avoid makeup, heavy sweating, saunas, and swimming pools for 48–72 hours post-treatment.
